Answer

Hi, Phyllis,

The Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System, an annual survey conducted by the CDC should have some of the statistics you are looking for. You can look at data at the city/county level for tobacco use here: http://apps.nccd.cdc.gov/brfss-smart/SelMMSAPrevData.asp

The CDC also has a section of its website devoted to smoking and tobacco use, including statistics: http://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/data_statistics/index.htm

Some other websites you might find useful include:

Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Datahub:

http://www.rwjf.org/en/research-publications/research-features/rwjf-datahub.html

Kaiser Family Foundation State Health Facts:

I hope these resources help. Please feel free to contact us again if you need further assistance.
